Laura Fleming

Miss Laura has twenty-five years of teaching experience throughout BC and Alberta, with fifteen years right here in Vegreville. She has studied many disciplines including ballet, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical and swing. Miss Laura’s passion for dance has taken her to New York City where she studied at the Martha Graham Institute, Steps on Broadway, Broadway Dance Centre, Alvin Ailey and Peridance Centre. Laura has attended the Teacher Training Program at the Edmonton School of Ballet where she studied the RAD and Cecchetti methods of Ballet as well as anatomy, music theory and dance history.

Miss Laura completed Module 1 of Acrobatic Arts in 2017 and is a certifying member of Acro Dance Teachers Association. In 2019 Laura completed Module 1 of Alixa Flexibility as well as Progressing Ballet Technique. Over the summer she completed Module 2 and 3 of Alixa Flexibility as well as the Sugarfoot Therapy Teachers Course, which combines Physiotherapy exercises with athletic training designed to keep the dancers at optimal health and prevent injuries. She believes strongly in the importance of continuing her own education in this always-changing dance industry so that her students receive solid and broad training.

Acadia Rudyk

Hello VSB family! I am Acadia Rudyk. This will be my fourth year teaching at Vegreville School of Ballet. Currently I am enrolled as a full time student at Concordia University of Edmonton and I also instruct spin classes at Rge Rd Spin in Vegreville. As my first degree is almost completed I will next pursue an after-degree in Education to eventually become an elementary school teacher. My love for dance started when I began ballet with the studio when I was three. Today I am still inspired by the atmosphere and rhythm of Vegreville School of Ballet. I am very excited to start this season, especially after being away from all of you for so long.

Madi Smith

Madi Smith began dancing at the age of 3 and has been dancing for 16 years now.

She is trained in all technical styles of dance including Jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, and

She discovered an overwhelming passion for the genre of HipHop and has pursued this style

and culture for many years now. She has won numerous awards from all over Canada and the

States, at competitions such as World of Dance, Monsters of HipHop, Radix, Artists Emerge and

Represent. She represented Canada at the IDO World HipHop Championships in Austria.

To name a few of her favourite dance experiences it would be dancing in a commercial for

Monster High, auditioning for World of Dance, and signing with DanceOn network in Los

Angeles. Because of her hard work and knowledge in dance, it has opened up the road to a new

passion in teaching children and adults of all ages. She has been teaching for 3 years and hopes

to continue for a long time.

Her love and passion for working with kids in the studio grew, and she is currently working

towards her education degree to become an elementary school teacher
